When you see this signature 土地公， you know you are in Jeju Island ~

Jeju Island…a Peaceful island

I took the domestic flight from Seoul to Jeju Island and i moved around in Jeju Island by this luxury limousine provided by Malaysian Harmony ~

必游之地：

Jeju island is a very beautiful island with blue sky and dark blue-grey sea  ~ An island that is rich of Seafood ~ An island that is rich of their traditional culture~

大长今：

Do you remember the super hito drama series – 大长今？

Jeju island was the main shooting location of 大长今~

Jeju island is also an ideal place for you to explore and get to know more about the traditional culture of the Korean ~

Let’s ……

According to the traditional custom, all of the male in Jeju island are not suppose to do any work. And the local address the male as 王八蛋 王八利.

The female in Jeju island have to pay a full respect to all of the 王八利 and the female are supposed to do all of the house chores and all of the work by their own without any help from the 王八利。　王八利 is allowed to sleep at home every single day, and they are allowed to marry a few wives too.

摇篮：

This is the baby’s 摇篮 but it is only for the baby boy to sleep and rest on it. As for the baby girl, the mommy will put them on the floor but not the 摇篮～

Look at this lady~

She is carrying something at her back ~

In  the old days, the ladies have to carry this big heavy pot up to somewhere to carry a big pot of water back home as drinking, cooking water. And the gentlemen are not suppose to help up because this is the obligation of the ladies ~

*it was really heavy …. i almost fall down when i tried to carry it up to my back*

Most of the Jeju resident will rare 黑真猪~

Traditional house in Jeju Island :

This is the outlook of the traditional house in Jeju Island ~

And this is the main gate of their house.

*For your information, Jeju island is really a very super duper peaceful island because there is no 小偷　（thief / robber) *

Therefore, it is really safe to have this type of gate at home

必知贴士：

Must Know :

When you want to pay a visit to any of the resident in Jeju Island , you have to look at these three wooden ‘front gate’ ~

If three of the woods are up like the picture shown, which means that the owner is away for vacation and you have to come back after a week time .

#2. If one of the upper wood is down, which means that the owner is not at home and there is only kid Or senior adult at home.

#3. If two of the upper woods are down, which means that the owner will be back in an hour time ~

#4. If all of the woods are down like this ….

it indicates that everyone is at home, Welcome to my house~!

I was so lucky that all of the three woods were down when i was paying a visit to one of the local resident ~

And,  i have discovered the ‘traditional’ toilet in her house ~

the lubang = toilet bowl

A great Explore in Jeju Island ~

This place was so beautiful especially with all of the sakura petals around ~

I have left some foot prints in Jeju Island ~
